After a good night’s sleep and excellent breakfast at Hampton Inn in Leeds, Alabama, we stopped at our first Buc-ee’s of the trip. With a couple extra snack and two 44 ounce Dr. Pepper Zeros, dad and I got on the road. Passing through Talladega National Forest, the trees and the sky were beautiful!

Our 44 ounce drinks were already about gone and we needed a stop. So just on the other side of the Alabama-Georgia state line, we stopped the Georgia Welcome Center and Rest Area. It was beautiful.

Our goal was to get through Atlanta before the lunch traffic. We almost made it. We hit a lot of traffic on the south side of Atlanta. Traffic was horrible the rest of the way to Orlando.
We made it to Florida….

Heavy traffic, aBuc-ee’s with way too many people in it, barbecue sandwich and dad’s new ugly Christmas sweater…..

We finally made it to the Hyatt Regency Orlando! It was late, we were tired, but we were at our temporary hotel. We revealed over the state license plates we saw; Virginia, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Iowa, Michigan, New York, Minnesota, Ohio, Illinois, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Alaska and Oregon. 15 in total.
