Hockey In My Years: Dallas Stars, Past and Present #2

Present

So, let’s see who guessed correctly…

#91 TYLER SEGUIN

He skates like Modano, he can score, he can set up teammates for goals and he is a great leader, helping Jamie Benn and the rest of the Stars Vets with the young, new kids on the team. Seguin also is a very giving person, and I’m not talking about money. He donates his time and helps those in the Dallas community. He along with many other athletes that take time out of their busy schedules and go out into the community to play hockey ball with fans, that is what an athlete should do. They should understand that the community around them, supports them and pays their paychecks. If an athlete understand this simple concept, then they rank up at the top of my list with Tyler Seguin.

Now, there are athletes who do not understand this, or if they do they do not do anything to show it. These athletes, in my eyes, are not worth their paychecks. They seem to me, selfish and greedy. Now, again, this is my opinion, and if anyone would like to prove me wrong, okay. However, I have seen this very issue in OKC with current athletes. I will not name names or teams, but this is something that means a lot to me. My hockey team was basically kicked out; a team that gave back to the community that supported them.

Currently, there is a lack of support for the community that surrounds the OKC Thunder Basketball team. I do not understand it, but it isn’t the NBA’s fault. The players that come and go must not understand this very simple concept. If I were the Thunder organization, I would encourage it. I’m not saying they have done nothing, but when hockey reigned in OKC, the community always benefited from it. I feel now, the community is just expected to spend money with not much given in return.

But, that is an argument for another day. Today, it’s about Tyler Seguin. And, yes, I may be obsessed a bit. However, can you blame me. Just look…..

Yes, I stole some of the my pics from Instagram and Twitter, but I can’t help it. He seems nice, funny and have you seen him?

And I’m just getting started.

And, here is me, my Tyler Seguin jerseys and more Stars memorabilia.

I have now been to a total of 4 games in Dallas and have seen the Stars play the Wild in Minnesota.
