January 1, 2020: Nashville vs. Dallas at the Cotton Bowl

Back in May of 2019, I purchased Winter Classic tickets, and it was the most amazing experience I have had at a hockey game.

It was me, along with my mom, my grandma “Omie” and Brigit, my grandma’s niece. Each of us enjoyed ourselves and it was a once in a lifetime experience, especially for Birgit, who was here visiting us from Germany with her husband and youngest son.

Once we got inside, I waiting in line for water and snacks for about 20 minutes and just got back to the seats before warm-ups. I totally messed up my video of the players coming out for warm-ups, but I did get some good pictures. As usual, Tyler Seguin is the last one off the ice.

The Stars had a tough time getting started, especially after Corey Perry was ejected not even 3 minutes into the game for an illegal check to the head. At the end of the 1st period, we were down 2-0, but I was not worried. I have seen the Stars start slow and then come back to win a game in the last 40 minutes.

The 2nd period was more physical than the 1st and I was shocked to see Tyler Seguin in the box for boarding. Shortly after his release from the penalty box, I told my mom what I thought was going to happen. I could feel it! I said, “Okay mom, this is how the rest of the game is going to go. We are going to score one goal before the 2nd intermission and then we are going to score 3 goals in the third.

DID THEY READ MY MIND? Because that is exactly what they did. I was shocked that I had predicted correctly, but I figured it wouldn’t have happened exactly like I thought it would. Well, what can I say! Do I know my boys or what?
